Susan Astor has worked for Zola Media as a web content writer, editor, and proofreader for two years. She greatly enjoys writing blogs, practice content, and various other materials, and interacting with the extremely intelligent and kind staff at Zola. She is happy to correct the spelling and grammar of her colleagues who so generously assist her with physical and technological tasks.
In her earlier life, Susan worked for over two decades as a poet in the public schools, teaching students from K-12 to write meaningful, moving poems. Over the years, she taught 20,000 students in 40 school districts in Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties. She has also worked as a freelance editor for private individuals, editing a good number of manuscripts (poetry, fiction, autobiography, theses) that went on to be published. In addition, she has ghostwritten a short story and part of a novel. Susan has been a poet since early childhood. Her poems have been published in over 100 magazines and journals and she has won several prestigious awards for her work. She has two published poetry collections, one published by The University of Georgia Press and one self-published.
