Nick Waldron
Digital Marketing Specialist

Nick is a Digital Marketing Specialist at Zola. He recently graduated from Binghamton University in December, with a degree in English and a minor in Education. After doing some research on emerging fields, he linked up with Zola, and the rest is (very recent) history. When he isn’t sending out emails and updating Excel documents, there is a good chance he is either playing basketball, studying for the LSAT, or talking about how much he loves the Oxford comma.

  • What makes someone successful in a role like yours?
I think the most important thing for me is a willingness to learn and grow. SEO is a constantly changing field, so it is really important to stay on top of everything to make sure that we are doing the best possible job for clients.
  • What are some achievements you’re most proud of?
I lost, and have continued to keep off, over 40 pounds in my senior year of high school. It wasn’t easy, but every day I wake up thankful that I was able to make a change that has positively affected my life in every way. I also graduated from college a semester early, which was not only great for saving some money, but it allowed me to get a job at Zola.
  • What did you want to grow up to be as a kid?
I have photo evidence of my ambitions to become a pizza man when I was in kindergarten. I delivered pizzas for a while in college, so I guess you could say I already lived the dream. It can only go down from here, right?
  • What was the coolest/worst job you ever had (excluding your time at Zola which we know is the coolest!)?
Coolest: I wrote for my school newspaper’s sports section. While I didn’t get paid and the teams I covered were mostly bad, it was a dream come true to be able to go to a game, flash my press badge, and interview coaches and players after college sporting events. Worst: I worked as a cashier one summer. Not my thing.
  • What’s on your playlist?
I have listened to rap music ever since I was a kid, probably because my mom accidentally got me uncensored Eminem and Outkast CDs for my eighth birthday. Nowadays, I listen to a lot of Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Denzel Curry.
  • What is your favorite part of your job?
I love seeing the rankings of clients shoot up after I help optimize their websites. It is really cool to see your work having an impact for businesses all across the country.
